How it works

  1. Step 1

    Choose a level

Foundation (P1โ€“P2), Developing (P3โ€“P4) or Extending (P5โ€“P6), by what the child understands now.

  2. Step 2

    Take a short check

A 14-topic starter, one question a topic, or three questions in one topic. โ€œNot sure yetโ€ is a fine answer.

  3. Step 3

    See what to practise

A report with every answer explained, a practice plan, and a guided practice question for each topic.

  4. Step 4

    Play with the maths

Tap, drag and slide: shade fractions, turn clock hands, share counters, give change in naira.

Made for parents, teachers and schools

The same short checks and picture activities, used three ways.

For parents

Know what to practise at home

  • In 10 to 15 minutes, see which topics your child is ready to practise next.
  • Every answer is explained in plain words, so you can talk it through together.
  • Guided practice and picture activities with naira, books and everyday examples.
  • Print the report or save it as a PDF to share with your child's teacher.

Good to know: each child uses it on their own link, which works on two devices, and their checks are saved to your account. You see every result on your dashboard. A check shows what to practise, not a grade.

For teachers

Start lessons in the right place

  • Use the 14-topic starter check at the start of a term to see where to begin.
  • A three-question topic check fits into a lesson starter or plenary.
  • Show a picture activity on the class screen and let pupils explain what changes: turn the clock hands, shade the fractions, share the counters.
  • Export results as a spreadsheet (CSV) for your records.

Good to know: a teacher's account buys pupil places as a school does, from 10, and gives each pupil their own link; you see every pupil's results on one class list.

For schools

One way of checking, P1 to P6

  • The same questions and three broad levels in every class, from Primary 1 to 6.
  • Reports with answers and next steps to share with parents.
  • Runs in a web browser on the phones, tablets and computers you already have.
  • A class list of every pupil's latest result and the topics to revisit.

Good to know: it samples each topic and isn't mapped to the NERDC, so use it to plan practice, not for admissions or grades.

Questions use naira, kobo, books, beads and school life. Sound is off unless you turn it on, and every picture is described in words for screen readers.

Each child uses it on their own private link, which works on two devices, such as a phone and a laptop. Their checks are saved to your account, and every page and printed report shows who it is licensed to.

Works without the internet: install it on a phone, tablet or computer and tap Download for offline use. It then opens and works with no connection, on up to two devices, for up to 30 days at a time; it renews by itself whenever it's online, and checks done offline reach your account when you reconnect.

Maths Gap Finder samples each topic with short checks; it doesn't cover every primary skill, and its three levels are broad starting points, not verified year-by-year placements. It hasn't been independently mapped to the NERDC or a British curriculum, so use results to choose what to practise next, not as a diagnosis, a grade or an admission decision. The picture activities show selected ideas and aren't scored. The two school scenes are illustrations created with AI, not photos of real pupils. Maths Gap Finder ยฉ 2026 TLC Consortium Limited.
